Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Picked Ninth In ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team has been selected ninth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference by the league's 13 head coaches, ODAC officials announced recently.

The Wasps boast an experienced squad of five seniors and one junior this year as they welcome two freshmen to the team. E&H went 4-0 during the fall season with a 9-0 win over Johnson University and 7-2 victories over Maryville (Tenn.) College, Bethany (W.Va.) College and Salem (N.C.) College.

Washington and Lee University, the winner of the past 16 ODAC titles and 28 overall, is picked to continue its dominance with 12 first-place votes. Randolph-Macon took the final top nod in second place while the University of Lynchburg is third and Virginia Wesleyan University is fourth.

Emory & Henry will open the spring portion of its season on Saturday when it visits Virginia Wesleyan at noon. The Wasps' first home match will be Saturday, March 23 against Randolph College.
