Emory & Henry Women's Tennis Defeats Ferrum, 5-3, Saturday On Senior Day

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (13-5, 5-5 ODAC) kept rolling on Saturday with a 5-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory over Ferrum College (6-9, 2-7 ODAC) at Bristol Racquet & Fitness Center. The match also served as Senior Day for the Wasps, who honored their five seniors prior to the start of action.

How It Happened
The Wasps got out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match with 8-3 victories coming at No. 2 and No. 3. Senior Vanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) and freshman Logan Graham (Radford, Va.) won at the second flight while senior Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) and freshman Cailie Pollard (Rural Retreat, Va.) came out on top at No. 3.

Summers won at No. 3 singles after a tiebreak in the first set while Johnston took a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5. Senior Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.
