How It Happened
The Scots opened up a 2-1 lead through doubles play but Wasp freshmen Haley Hammonds (Norton, Va.) and Sarah Marion (Dobson, N.C.) claimed an 8-3 victory at the third doubles flight.
In singles, Emory & Henry got victories at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5. Freshman Payton Holt (Mount Ulla, N.C.) won 6-3, 6-4 at the top flight while sophomore Logan Graham (Radford, Va.) prevailed in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 2. Freshman Chrissy Rukeyser (Knoxville, Tenn.) picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at the fifth pairing.
