EMORY, Va. - The University of Virginia's College at Wise Women's Tennis Team (1-1) grabbed a 7-0 win against Emory & Henry College (1-1) Saturday morning at Richardson Tennis Courts.

The Wasps played under NCAA Division II rules for the first time with the three doubles matches counting for one point together and the six singles matches each counting for a point.

How It Happened
The Cavaliers opened up a 1-0 lead through the doubles portion of the match, winning at No. 1 and No. 3. Emory & Henry prevented the sweep as senior Logan Graham (Radford, Va.) and sophomore Molly McMichael (Riner, Va.) earned a 7-6 victory with thanks to a 10-8 win in the tiebreak.

In singles, Wise grabbed all six matches on its way to the 7-0 win. Graham battled in her match at No. 4, falling 6-3, 6-3, while freshman Ann Gray Purdue (Bluefield, Va.) forced a tiebreak in the second set at No. 5 as she dropped a 6-2, 7-6 (3) decision.
