Tusculum Tennis Defeats Emory & Henry Wednesday Afternoon

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (5-13, 1-10 SAC) and Women's Tennis Team (4-12, 0-11 SAC) dropped a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches to Tusculum University on Wednesday afternoon. The No. 25 nationally-ranked Pioneer men's team won by a 7-0 margin while the No. 29 nationally-ranked women's squad earned a 5-2 decision.

Men's Match
- The Pioneers swept the doubles portion of the match to take a 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Juan Alvarez (Metepec, MEXICO) took the first set of his match at No. 3 singles but fell by a 7-5, 2-6, 2-6 score.
- Freshman Kartik Parhar (Ludhiana, INDIA) put up a fight at No. 2 singles but came up short by a 5-7, 4-6 margin.

Women's Match
- Tusculum completed a clean sweep of the doubles matches to take the 1-0 lead.
- Freshman Natalie Bergmann (Forest Hills, N.Y.) took down her opponent at the No. 4 singles spot by an 8-6 final score.
- Millie Turner (Chobham, ENGLAND) was victorious at the No. 6 singles position as she posted a dominant 8-0 win.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry wraps up the season on Friday when it plays host to the Saints of Limestone University. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Richardson Tennis Courts.
