Emory & Henry Volleyball Falls Twice Over The Weekend

NEWPORT NEWS, Va./ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (4-8) dropped its pair of matches on its roadtrip to the Tidewater of Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina.

The Wasps fell by a 3-0 score to Christopher Newport University (12-2) on Friday evening and came up short to Elizabeth City State University (10-2) on Saturday. CNU is receiving votes in the AVCA NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll.

The Christopher Newport Match
- Freshman outside hitter Camden Jones (Bristol, Tenn.) notched four kills and two blocks while senior right-side hitter Ashley Clayton (Durham, N.C.) had three kills.
- Freshman setter Paige Halcrow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) went for six assists, six digs and an ace as junior setter Marissa Snapp (Chuckey, Tenn.) dished out five assists and added three digs.

The Elizabeth City State Match
- Junior right-side hitter Carley Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) put up 17 kills with five blocks and six digs while Jones and sophomore right-side hitter Brianna Hogan (Front Royal, Va.) had nine kills each with Jones adding 15 digs.
- Halcrow posted 27 assists, six digs and two aces while Snapp notched 21 assists and 10 digs.
- Sophomore libero Sarah Moore (Kingsport, Tenn.) collected 25 digs.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will be back at home on Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2 to host the Wasps Classic. E&H will play three matches over the course of the weekend against Bob Jones University, Regent University and Johnson & Wales (N.C.) University.
