Emory & Henry Volleyball Falls Twice In UWG Tournament Saturday

CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (2-5) dropped both of its matches against Concord University (6-3) and Georgia College (7-0) on day two of the University of the West Georgia Volleyball Tournament Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Lions topped the Wasps 3-0 before E&H fell in five sets to the Bobcats.

The Concord Match
- Freshman outside hitter Hannah Hylton (Selma, Va.) led the Wasps with six kills and seven digs while sophomore outside hitter Julissa Hopgood (Lutz, Fla.) posted six kills and three digs.
- Sophomore setter Payton Rolfsen had a team-high 17 assists, five digs and a service ace. Freshman setter Natalie Harris (Hillsville, Va.) recorded six assists, three digs, one kill and a service ace in the loss.

The Georgia College Match
- Senior right-side hitter Brianna Hogan (Front Royal, Va.) paced E&H with 16 kills, four digs and one block. Hylton chipped in with 15 kills, nine digs and two service aces.
- Rolfsen had a match-high 44 assists, nine digs, four kills, four service aces and three blocks. Junior libero Grace Nelson (Murphy, N.C.) posted a match-high 28 digs, one assist, one service ace and one kill.

- Emory & Henry returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Tuesday, September 12 when they make the trip to Jefferson City, Tenn. to take on Carson-Newman University. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
