Emory & Henry Volleyball Tops Coker, 3-1, Tuesday Evening

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Volleyball Team (7-11, 3-7 SAC) picked up its third South Atlantic Conference win of the year on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 victory over Coker University (2-17, 0-12 SAC). The Wasps earned the win by scores of 26-28, 25-14, 32-30 and 25-17.

How It Happened
- The opening set was a closely-played affair as the teams traded the lead three times and were tied on ten different occasions. The Cobras were first to 15 as they held a three-point lead. Coker reached set point at 24-19 but the Wasps rallied with five straight to earn a set point of their own at 25-24. The visitors would win three of the next four points to take the opener 28-26. 
- The Wasps bounced back in the second frame as they ran out to a 15-8 advantage at the midpoint. E&H extended its lead to as many as 11 en route to a 25-14 set win to level the match.
- The third set was another tight affair and the squads were level at 13-13. The Wasps reached another set point at 24-16 but the Cobras mounted a rally to tie things up at 24 all. Each team reached set point multiple times in the extra points but could not find the deciding score. The Wasps finally finished off the stanza with a service ace from senior outside hitter Brianna Hogan (Front Royal, Va.) to win the set 32-30 and jump ahead in the match. 
- The fourth kept the trend of close sets going as the score stood at 14-13 in favor of the visitors, forcing an E&H timeout. The Wasps responded with a 9-0 to take control of the set and finished off the Cobras on a kill from sophomore middle Gracyn Miller (Lilburn, Ga.) to take the set and match 25-17. 

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior middle Hannah Watson (Kingsport, Tenn.) paced the home squad with 16 kills, two blocks and a dig while Miller added 13 kills, six blocks, four digs and a pair of service aces. Junior outside hitter Diana Wesolosky (Midlothian, Va.) had her best game in an E&H uniform as she posted 11 kills and a pair of digs.
- Sophomore setter Payton Rolfsen (Fort Wayne, Ind.) recorded a career-high 51 assists, eight digs, two service aces, one block and a kill. Senior libero Libby Bickelhaupt (Fort Myers, Fla.) had a match-high 19 digs, four assists and a service ace in the win. 

Coker Individual Leaders
- Chelsey Blume led the Cobras with 19 kills, five blocks and a dig while Taylor Hills contributed ten kills, five digs and a pair of blocks. 
- Kendal Boland recorded a double-double with 34 assists, 12 digs, one kill, one block and a service ace.
