Anderson (S.C.) Volleyball Sweeps Emory & Henry In SAC Play Friday Night

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson (S.C.) University Volleyball Team (19-3, 12-1 SAC) remained tied atop the South Atlantic Conference standings with a win over Emory & Henry College (7-12, 3-8 SAC) by a 3-0 margin on Friday night. The Trojans swept the Wasps by scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-20.

How It Happened
- The Trojans came out on fire as they took seven of the first nine points to establish a 7-2 advantage. Anderson (S.C.) continued to play in rhythm as they posted a hitting percentage of .480 and took the opening set by a 25-10 margin.
- It was more of the same in the second set as Anderson ran out to a 15-6 lead at the midpoint and cruised to a 25-14 win to take a two sets to none match lead.
- The Wasps fought back in the third set and trailed by a 15-11 margin at the midway point. The Trojans expanded their lead out to 22-15 later in the frame, but E&H responded with four straight to trim the deficit to just three. Anderson settled down in the deciding stages and took the set and match by a 25-20 scoreline.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior middle Hannah Watson (Kingsport, Tenn.) once again led the Wasps with five kills while freshman outside hitter Hannah Hylton (Salem, Va.) posted three kills, four digs, an assist and a service ace.
- Sophomore setter Payton Rolfsen (Fort Wayne, Ind.) had a team-high 13 assists, two kills and a service ace. 

Anderson (S.C.) Individual Leaders
- Tabitha Wheeler led the Trojans with nine kills, one dig, one block, one assist and a service ace. Sadie Kluner added six kills and a block to go along with Brantley Chipley's five kills and two blocks.
- Jenna Long contributed a match-high 22 assists, two kills, a service ace and a dig.

- Emory & Henry steps out of conference play tomorrow afternoon to face the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
