Pam Newberry is entering her first year as Head Volleyball Coach at Emory & Henry College. She joins the E&H staff after an extremely successful six-year run at nearby Patrick Henry High School.

In her six years leading the Rebels (2017-22), Newberry amassed a 131-31 overall record, winning the 2018 VHSL Class A State Championship with a total of five state appearances. Patrick Henry additionally made the state semifinals in 2019 and the spring 2021 season with her 2019 squad winning 31 matches.

Newberry has coached four All-State First Team players including a State Player of the Year, to go along with a pair of All-State Second-Teamers. The Rebels won five-straight Hogoheegee District titles on their way to three Region D Championships and two region runner-up finishes. For her efforts, Newberry has been recognized as the Region D Coach of the Year twice and earned three Hogoheegee Coach of the Year accolades.

Newberry also spent the 1994 and 1995 seasons as an assistant on the Emory & Henry staff and served as an assistant at Abingdon High School in the early 1990s.

As a player, Newberry was a four-year letterwinner at East Tennessee State University from 1988 to 1992. She helped lead the Buccaneers to an 84-44 overall record with a 29-9 mark in the Southern Conference. During that time, ETSU posted a pair of SoCon Regular Season Championships and one SoCon Tournament Title.

Newberry graduated from ETSU with a Bachelor of Science in physical education in 1997. She resides in Glade Spring with her husband, Aaron. The couple has a daughter, Logan, who is currently a sophomore for the Wasps' volleyball team, and a son Brady who is currently a junior at Patrick Henry.
