Emory & Henry Cross Country Announces 2015 Meet Schedule

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams have set their schedule for the 2015 season. Under the direction of Head Coach Tom Antenucci – now in his fourth year - this fall's slate will see the Wasps compete in eight different meets on six courses in four different states.

"I'm very excited about our schedule this season. We're especially excited for the Paul Short Invitational, which is one of the most prestigious meets in the country for all divisions and will have over 100 teams in attendance," said Antenucci. "The fields we will be up against will be a great combination of DI, DII, and DIII competition."

This year, the Wasps will begin the season with New River Trail Time Trial in Pulaski, Virginia. The meet will see E&H take on the Maroons of Roanoke College at 6:00 p.m.

Next up for Emory & Henry is the Salisbury Invitational in Salisbury, Maryland on Saturday, September 5. The Wasps will get a glimpse of the course for the 2015 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships on Friday, September 11 when they run in the Bridgewater Invitational.

E&H will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday, September 26 for the Greensboro Invitational, hosted by Greensboro College. The highlight of the Wasps' regular season will be the Paul Short Invitiational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 2.

Emory & Henry will visit the Kernstown Battlefield just outside of Winchester, Virginia on Saturday, October 17 for the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Preview meet, hosted by Shenandoah University. The event will be contested on the same course which will host the Region Championships four weeks later.

"All of our meets this year will be new to use and each of them are on flat, quick courses capable of producing fast times. These fast courses will definitely prepare us well for the fast conference meet at Bridgewater, as we continue to look to move up in the ODAC," Antenucci added.

On Saturday, October 31 Emory & Henry will officially begin the postseason with the 2015 ODAC Championships, hosted by Bridgewater. Two weeks later, the Wasps will return to Winchester for the 2015 NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Championships, which will round out the season.
