Emory & Henry Women’s Cross Country Finishes Ninth At 2015 ODAC Championship

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Cross Country Team took ninth place at the 2015 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship Saturday morning. The meet took place on the campus of Bridgewater College.

Leading the way for E&H was sophomore Meg Greene (Charlotte, N.C.) who placed 43rd with a time of 26:13 over the 6K course. Freshman McKenna Tankersley (Big Stone Gap, Va.) was 50th overall in 26:55 while junior Elizabeth Wilson (Roanoke, Va.) came in 54th (27:09) to finish third for the Wasps.

Freshmen Kelly Light (Blountville, Tenn.) and Taylor Henderson (Glade Spring, Va.) were 57th and 58th for Emory & Henry, respectively, running 27:31 and 27:56. Sophomore Lindsey Pratt (Marion, Va.) tallied a 63rd-place finish (28:35) while freshman Annie Kate Leinius (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) was 81st in 32:27.

Hannah Chappell-Dick of Eastern Mennonite University was the medalist for the race, running a 22:21 to lead the Royals to a third-place finish. Washington and Lee University won the meet, placing four runners in the top 12 while Bridgewater was second.

Emory & Henry will next compete at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Championship in two weeks at the Kernstown Battlefield. Shenandoah University will serve as the host for the meet.
