Taylor Jefferson To Become Director Of Marketing And Fan Engagement At Bowling Green State University

EMORY, Va. – Emory & Henry College Assistant Director of Athletics Taylor Jefferson will return to Bowling Green State University to become the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement. Jefferson's last day at Emory & Henry will be Friday, June 8.

"We are grateful to Taylor for his outstanding service to our Emory & Henry family," Interim Director of Athletics Anne Crutchfield said. "His talent and enthusiasm for promoting our teams has been instrumental in our success. Taylor has a bright future in athletics administration and we wish him nothing but the best in his new position."

During his five years in Southwest Virginia, Jefferson was instrumental in building brand recognition for Emory & Henry Athletics. His work in graphic design, video production and marketing won five awards from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) in the past two years alone. Attendance at contests increased across the board with football crowds ranking in the top 10 nationally in three of the last four seasons.

Jefferson built E&H's social media outlets into some of the best in the country. The athletics Facebook account grew by 1,023% and the Twitter account saw more than 3,000 new followers. Emory & Henry is rated No. 14 by D3socialmedia.com, an index which takes into account the number of social media likes/follows per enrollment.

"The five years that I spent at Emory & Henry has been an incredible experience. It has been a pleasure to work with student-athletes, coaches, and community members," Jefferson commented. "I can't wait to start my new journey at a familiar place in Bowling Green, Ohio."

A 2010 graduate of Bowling Green, Jefferson will be tasked with marketing the Falcons' 18 sports to increase student attendance and fan engagement He will also oversee a staff including a marketing assistant and 25 student interns.

 A search for the next Assistant Director of Athletics will commence soon.
