Melissa Davis is entering her 15th year at Emory & Henry College and her fifth as Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance/NCAA Athletics Health Care Administrator. Davis also serves as Head Athletic Trainer, a post she has held for the past 10 years, and was Senior Woman Administrator for seven years from 2014-21.

As Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance, Davis has administrative oversight of the Robert W. Gibson, III Weight Room and the Emory & Henry Aquatics Center in addition to the athletic training clinic.

In addition to leading the operations of the Athletic Training Department, Davis currently serves as the Athletic Trainer for the football, women's basketball, men's & women's golf and cheer & dance teams at E&H. She has previously worked with the Wasps’ women's basketball, women’s swimming, men's & women’s soccer and softball programs and the Intermont Equestrian teams.

Prior to her return to E&H, Davis spent three years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tennessee.

Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory & Henry in 2002, where she also was a pitcher on the Wasps’ softball team. She received her Master of Arts degree in 2005 from East Tennessee State University. A native of Richlands, Virginia, Davis now resides in Chilhowie.
