Emory & Henry Baseball’s Steven Smith Named To NCBWA All-Southeast Region Second Team

SALISBURY, N.C. – Emory & Henry University third baseman Steven Smith (Salisbury, N.C.) has received further accolades for his play during the 2025 season. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association recently announced that the senior has been selected to the All-Southeast Region Second Team. Smith was previously honored as an All-South Atlantic Conference Second Team selection. 

Smith led the team and was ranked second in the SAC with a .420 batting average for the season. His 58 RBIs tied the single-season record and placed him third amongst the conference leaders. Smith set new program single-season standards for runs scored (53), hits (86) and doubles (22) while coming within one home run of the single-season record (12). He finished the year with a .457 on-base percentage and .712 slugging percentage while drawing 10 walks and stealing seven bases. 

Additionally, Smith has earned a selection to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Southeast Region Second Team. 

Smith is one of 13 SAC players who received All-Southeast Region honors. Emory & Henry finished the regular season with a 17-33 overall record, going 8-22 in SAC games to finish in 12th place in the league standings.
