Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Wins At Home Sunday To Close Out Regular Season

Intermont Equestrian IDA Team following Sunday's regular season finale home show

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University IDA Team closed out the 2024-25 regular season with a win at home on Sunday.

The Wasps finish the year with 82 points as they easily won the Region H Championship for the 24th straight year. The 82 points are two off a perfect season score and 16 points clear of region reserve champion Virginia Tech.

First Level
Senior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) opened the day with a 74.444% to win the class. Senior Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.) followed with a third-place finish with a score of 72.917%. Senior Maddie Anderson (Fort Myers, Fla.) rounded out the class, earning a 65.000% in sixth. 

Upper Training Level
Senior Sierra Smith (Olathe, Kan.) posted a 74.800% to finish second in the division. 

Lower Training Level
Senior Hannah Ferguson (Newport News, Va.) finished first with an 81.731%; senior Emily Cueto (Star Valley, Ariz.) was sixth with a 67.885%.

Introductory Level
Sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) received an 84.375%, winning her division. 

The Awards
The Wasps were High-Point Team, scoring 21 points. The University of Virginia was Reserve High-Point Team with 14 points. 

Shive was the High-Point Rider of the Day and Ferguson was Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day.

Dressage Seat Equitation
Sophomore Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C.) rode to fourth at First Level.

Sophomore Cetari White-Anderson (Clatskanie, Ore.) was first in the Upper Training division while senior Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) was fourth.

Emory & Henry will look to defend its national title from a year ago as it competes at the Intercollegiate Dressage Association National Championships on April 24-26 in St. Louis, Missouri. The show will be hosted by the National Equestrian Center.
