EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Basketball Team (4-2, 0-1 SAC) fell in its South Atlantic Conference opener to Anderson (S.C.) University (6-0, 1-0 SAC) Saturday afternoon. The Trojans downed the Wasps by a 97-46 scoreline.

How It Happened
- The Trojans were hot to begin the game, running out to an 18-6 lead in the opening 10 minutes of the contest. Anderson continued to knock down shots, utilizing a 19-2 run over the following five minutes to push their advantage out to 37-8 with 5:11 to play. It was all Trojans in the first half, as they took a 52-13 lead into the locker room at the half.
- Anderson picked up where it left off to begin the second half, drilling three three-point jumpers in the first two minutes to increase their margin out to 61-13. Emory & Henry had no answer for the Trojans' hot shooting on the afternoon, as the visitors earned the win going away by the 97-46 final score.
Emory & Henry Leaders
- Sophomore guard Korbin Dixon (Milton, Ontario, CANADA) was the leading scorer for Emory & Henry as he collected 14 points and a trio of rebounds. Freshman guard Donnie Morris (Tampa, Fla.) added seven points and an assist.
- Junior forward Trenten Gerald (Charlotte, N.C.) chipped in with seven points, two rebounds and a block off of the bench. Senior forward Assad Madassalia (Bronx, N.Y.) registered six points, five rebounds, one assist and a blocked shot.
Anderson Individual Leaders
- Kadyn Dawkins had a game-high 18 points, four assists, one steal and a rebound while Rashawn Inglemon went for 14 points and an assist.
- Caleb McAbee recorded 14 points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist for the Trojans. Dallas Jones had nine points, one rebound, one assist and a steal in the win.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot just 28.6 percent (14-for-49) from the field, hitting three three-pointers (15.8%). The Wasps went 15-for-24 (62.5%) at the free throw line.
- Anderson made 37-of-62 (59.7%) of their shots and was a scorching 13-for-26 (50.0%) from long range. The Trojans made all 10 of their free throw attempts.
- AU held a massive 43-22 rebounding advantage, and the Trojans led 44-20 on points scored in the painted area
