Men's Tennis Falls To Non-Conference Opponent, William Peace, 7-2, Friday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry men's tennis team (0-5, 0-1 ODAC) dropped their fifth straight match on Friday afternoon to non conference opponent, William Peace (2-3). Although the Wasps lost, the men's team picked up their first match victories of the season.

Doubles

Both the number one and number two doubles teams played in hard fought matches for the Wasps. Both duos lost by the score of 8-4. Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) and Staymon Johnson (Pilot Mountain, N.C.) picked up their win as partners. The two won 8-6, in a thriller, at three doubles.

Singles

At two singles, sophomore Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) picked up his first singles win on the season, defeating his counterpart, 6-1, 6-2. Both the one seed and six seed were swept, 6-0, 6-0. The three through five seed lost in tough matchups on the day.

Next Match

The Wasps will host ODAC foe, Bridgewater College at home on Sunday, March 18th on Richardson Tennis Courts.
