EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team and Head Coach McCallie Jones-Winstead, have announced the 2018 season schedule. This year, the Wasps are set for a 19-match schedule, its largest slate since the 2008 campaign. E&H will play 10 contests against Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponents and is set to host nine games at Fred Selfe Stadium.

"This fall is going to be a big test of how far we've come in the past year. I'm looking forward to having this group back on campus in August and keep building on what we started in 2017," commented Jones-Winstead. "Our non-conference schedule is set up to prepare us for ODAC competition, so we should be more prepared heading into October."
For the first time since 2006, E&H will play its opening two games of the season at home. The Wasps will take on Brevard College on Friday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m., and Milligan College on Sunday, September 2 at 1:00 p.m.
A three-game road trip awaits Emory & Henry, visiting Greensboro College (Wed., Sept. 5) before traveling to Demorest, Georgia on the weekend of September 8-9 to face off against Agnes Scott College and Piedmont College.
Another two home fixtures against Averett University on Wednesday, September 12 (7:00 p.m.) and Salem (N.C.) College on Sunday, September 16 (3:30 p.m.) will give way to a road contest at Meredith College (Tues., Sept. 18).
The Wasps open ODAC play with a visit to Bridgewater College on Saturday, September 22 before returning home for a pair of league matches against Ferrum College (Wed., Sept. 26; 5:00 p.m.) and Virginia Wesleyan University (Sat., Sept. 29; 1:00 p.m.).
Emory & Henry will visit Bob Jones University in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Tuesday, October 2 for its final non-conference contest of the year and travel to take on national powerhouse University of Lynchburg on the road (Sat., Oct. 6).
Three of the next four matches will be at home as the Wasps host Hollins University on Wednesday, October 10 (7:00 p.m.) and Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, October 13 (11:00 a.m.). E&H will travel to Guilford College on Wednesday, October 17 before concluding its home schedule on Sunday, October 21 against Randolph College at 1:00 p.m.
E&H will visit Roanoke College (Wed., Oct. 24) and Sweet Briar College (Sat., Oct. 27) to round out the regular season with hopes to secure one of nine spots in the ODAC Tournament.
"We've got a great group of returning players as well as a fresh and exciting class coming in. I know that if we can work as a group from the get go, this season could see a playoff berth," Jones-Winstead added.
The 2018 ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be played between Monday, October 29 and Sunday, November 4 with an 8/9 first round game on Monday. The quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday, October 31 with the semifinals and championship game on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
