Emory & Henry Women's Soccer Announces 2019 Schedule

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team and Head Coach McCallie Winstead have completed the details for the upcoming 2019 season. The Wasps will play 17 matches this year with nine contests taking place at Fred Selfe Stadium.

Emory & Henry will open the season with a pair of matches on the road, visiting Brevard College on Friday, August 30 and Averett University on Wednesday, September 4.

Six of the next seven contests will be played on the E&H campus as the team takes on Greensboro College on Sunday, September 8 (4:00 p.m.). A Friday-Sunday weekend awaits the Wasps with visits from The University of the South (Fri., Sept. 13; 7:00 p.m.) and Shenandoah university (Sun., Sept. 15; noon).

After a trip to Salem (N.C.) College on September 19, Emory & Henry returns home for another three-match stretch. Non-conference ties against Southern Virginia University (Sat., Sept. 21; 1:00 p.m.) and Piedmont College (Tue., Sept. 24; 6:00 p.m.) set up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference showdown against Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday, September 28 in the second game a doubleheader with the E&H men's team.

A three-game league road swing visiting Ferrum College, Washington and Lee University and Virginia Wesleyan University gets the October portion of the schedule started. The Wasps will be back home on Tuesday, October 15 for a 5:00 p.m., match against Roanoke College.

After travelling to Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, Saturday, October 19, Emory & Henry will play its final two home matches against Guilford College (Wed., Oct. 23; 7:00 p.m.) and Sweet Briar College (Sat., Oct. 26; 5:00 p.m.). The Wasps will close out the regular season at Hollins University on Tuesday, October 29.

The 2019 ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be played between Monday, November 4 and Sunday, November 10 with an 8/9 first round contest on Monday. The quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday, November 6 with the semifinals and championship game on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
