E&H, which achieved a 3.03 team GPA during the 2018-19 academic year, was one of 644 teams from all levels of college soccer to earn the designation. The Team Academic Awards are presented by the United Soccer Coaches to college and university soccer teams which have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

"I continue to be very proud of our team's academic performance," commented Head Coach McCallie Winstead. "It is no secret that it takes a strong work-ethic to achieve success at a high level both on the field and in the classroom. Academics are of the utmost importance to all of our coaches here at E&H, and the women's soccer program deserves this honor for the work they put in off the field."

The Wasps were one of nine programs from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference to receive the honor. Also recognized from the league were Bridgewater College, Eastern Mennonite University, Hollins University, University of Lynchburg, Randolph College, Roanoke College, Shenandoah University and Washington and Lee University.

Founded in 1941 as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the United Soccer Coaches is the world's largest soccer coaches' organization, serving members at every level of the game.
