Emory & Henry Women’s Swimming Tabbed Fifth ODAC Coaches’ Poll

FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Swimming Team has been chosen to finish fifth at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships, ODAC officials announced Thursday. The poll is voted on by each of the league's 12 coaches.

Emory & Henry returns four letterwinners from last season's squad led by junior Olivia Anson (Apex, N.C.), who was an All-ODAC Second-Teamer a year ago. Also back for the Wasps are juniors Savannah Scarbrough (Crozet, Va.) and Taylor Simmons (Fincastle, Va.) and sophomore Lauren Trotter (Bristol, Va.).

Joining the team this winter are freshmen Leah Mumpower (Bristol, Va.), Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) and Anne-Louise Tunstall (Mount Airy, N.C.).

Washington and Lee University is picked to win the league for the 12th-straight year with 121 points and 11 first-place votes. The Generals currently have 28 ODAC championships under their caps. Randolph-Macon College is second (109 pts.) while Roanoke College and Bridgeater College are separated by two points in third and fourth. The Maroons earned the final first-place vote.

Emory & Henry (1-0, 1-0 ODAC), which got the season started on Friday, October 5 with a 102-39 win over Ferrum College, will be back in the water on Saturday when it competes in the ODAC Relays, hosted by Washington and Lee.
