Lynchburg Men’s & Women’s Swimming Defeat Emory & Henry Saturday In ODAC Dual

EMORY, Va. – The University of Lynchburg Men's & Women's Swimming Teams picked up a pair of dual meet victories over Emory & Henry College Saturday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

The Basics

The Men
- Freshmen Noah Wilson (Frederick, Md.), Luc Grillet (Matthews, N.C.), Antonio Walters (Elon, N.C.) and Jackson Cheatham (Appomattox, Va.) finished second in the 200-meter medley relay, setting a new school record in the process at 1:59.16.
- Sophomore Blake Madaris (Acworth, Ga.) was second in the 800-meter freestyle with at time of 10:31.03 while sophomore Mack Henningsen (Abingdon, Va.) won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:10.99.
- Sophomore Braxton Justice (Spanishburg, W.Va.) picked up a victory in the 50-meter freestyle (:26.35) while Wilson was second in the 400-meter individual medley, establishing the school record at 5:31.51.
- Grillet took third place in the 100-meter butterfly (1:07.28) while Justice was second in the 100-free at :59.83.
- In the 100-backstroke, Wilson was third with a time of 1:07.90 while Henningsen took third in the 400-freestyle (5:02.17).
- Grillet earned a victory for the Wasps in the 100-meter breaststroke, setting a new E&H record at 1:11.22 while Justice was third.
- E&H closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay as freshman Ryan Spangler (Daleville, Va.), Madaris, sophomore Nick Moore (Lebanon, Va.) and Cheatham clocked a 1:55.12.

The Women
- The Wasps opened the meet with three victories in a row led off by a win in the 200-meter medley relay. Senior Olivia Anson (Apex, N.C.) and sophomores Leah Mumpower (Bristol, Va.), Anne-Louise Tunstall (Mount Airy, N.C.) and Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) went a 2:15.10 on their way to the first-place finish.
- Freshman Kenzie Welch (Knoxville, Tenn.) won the 800-meter freestyle in 10:34.97 while Anson grabbed first in the 200-free (2:17.62).
- Tunstall took third in the 50-meter freestyle, swimming a :30.92 while Welch was the runner-up in the 400-meter individual medley, stopping the watches in 5:54.27.
- Anson earned her third win of the day, taking first in the 100-butterfly (1:09.72) while Tunstall added a second-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:08.04.
- Welch took second in the 100-meter backstroke, clocking a 1:17.60 while freshman Kate Prager (Concord, N.C.)was second in the 400-freestyle (5:31.24).
- In the 100-meter breaststroke, Sweigart was second with a time of 1:22.99 and the Wasps closed out the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay. Junior Lauren Trotter (Bristol, Va.), freshman Hannah Patton (Marion, Va.), freshman Marley Sterling (Clinton, S.C.), and freshman Paige Woodworth (Clinton, S.C.) posted a 2:22.69.
