SEWANEE, Tenn. – Head Coach Jessica Giuggioli took two members of the Emory & Henry women's tennis team to Sewanee University for the ITA South Regionals on Friday. Freshman Sveva Mazzari (San Remo, ITALY) and junior Gina Rutledge (Germantown, N.C.) represented E&H at the tournament.

In the first round, Rutledge, who is a transfer from Sweet Briar College, fell 8-3 in what was designated an 8 game pro set for the B draw due to rain in the area.  Mazzari found success in her first round, however. The freshman won 6-1, 6-1 as she advanced to the second round. Mazzari's next draw was against a player from national powerhouse Emory University. The Italian born player lost 6-1, 6-3.  In doubles, the duo went down 8-2.
