LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (5-3, 2-1 ODAC) earned their second Old Dominion Athletic Conference win of the season in over Randolph College (7-3, 0-3 ODAC), 7-2, Saturday afternoon.
Sveva Mazzari (San Remo, ITALY) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) continued their hot streak as double partners. The two, who won 8-4, still have not lost as doubles partners. Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) defeated their counterpart at two doubles, 8-5. Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) made quick work at three doubles, winning 8-1.
Mazzari once again blanked another opponent, 6-0, 6-0, at one singles. Unfortunately, Riner was unable to win, losing at two singles, 6-4, 6-0. Summer's went into a third set at three singles and earned he hard fought victory, 6-1, 7-6. Sheaves dropped her match 6-1, 7-5. Meade dominated at five singles, taking down her opponent, 6-0, 6-0. Curtis earned her first ODAC victory of the season, beating her opponent 6-4, 6-0.
The Wasps will look to earn another ODAC victory on Saturday, April 2 at Guilford College.
