Emory & Henry Men’s & Women’s Tennis Release 2018-19 Schedule

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Tennis Teams led by Head Coach Christine Johnston have released their schedules for the 2018-19 season. The men will play in 17 matches during the year while the women are schedule to take the court for 20 matches.

Both teams will get the season off to a start on Saturday, September 29 when they host Johnson University at Richardson Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. The Wasps remain at home on Sunday, September 30 against Maryville (Tenn.) College for a 1:00 p.m., match.

The E&H women will have an extra pair of matches this fall, to be played on the weekend of October 6-7. On Saturday, the Wasps will travel to Charleston, West Virginia to face Bethany (W.Va.) University. Emory & Henry returns home on Sunday for a contest against Salem (N.C.) College (2:00 p.m.).

The spring portion of the season begins with the Old Dominion Athletic Conference eastern swing, as the Wasps visit Virginia Wesleyan University (Sat., Mar. 2) and Randolph-Macon College (Sun., Mar. 3).

E&H will play three matches over Spring Break, visiting William Peace University on Tuesday, March 13 and taking on both Johnson and Ohio Christian University in Sevierville, Tennessee on Saturday, March 16.

Emory & Henry has one of the longest homestands in recent memory between Tuesday, March 19 and Saturday, April 13. During that span, the Wasps will play eight matches including ODAC contests against Randolph College, Roanoke College, the University of Lynchburg, Sweet Briar College, Shenandoah University and Guilford College.

On Friday, April 20 E&H will close out the home portion of its schedule as it welcomes Ferrum College.

A trip to Bridgewater College on Friday, April 26 and a split doubleheader against Hollins University and Hampden-Sydney College on the HU campus on Saturday, April 27 will close out the regular season for the Wasps.

The 2019 ODAC Men's & Women's Tennis Tournaments will take place between Tuesday, April 30 and Sunday, May 5. The men's quarterfinals will be at seeds 1-4 on Tuesday, April 30 while the women will play their quarterfinal matches on Wednesday, May 1 at their respective 1-4 seeds. The semifinal and championship matches of the tournaments will take place on the campus of Randolph-Macon College.
