SALEM, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University Women's Tennis Team (5-4, 4-1 ODAC) grabbed a 9-0 win over Emory & Henry College (5-3, 3-3 ODAC) Sunday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

How It Happened
VWU jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles. Sophomore Payton Holt (Mount Ulla, N.C.) and freshman Tess Flanigan (Marietta, Ga.) put up a fight at the top doubles pairing, falling 8-6.

In singles action, Flanigan took her opponent to a 10-point super tiebreaker at No. 2. Junior Cailie Pollard (Rural Retreat, Va.) fell 11-9 in her super tiebreaker at No. 4 singles while sophomore Makenzie Mendler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) also challenged at No. 6 singles before falling 10-8 in a super tiebreaker.
