Ali Singleton Named To The All-ODAC Volleyball Third Team

ASHLAND, Va. – Emory & Henry College Volleyball senior outside hitter Ali Singleton (Mount Jackson, Va.) has been named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Third Team, ODAC officials announced this weekend. The announcement came following the completion of the 2017 ODAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Singleton makes it back-to-back years receiving all-league recognition after being selected to the All-ODAC Second Team in 2016. She finished the year with a total of 262 kills, averaging 2.59 kills per set with a .181 hitting percentage.  The senior added 252 digs, 16 service aces and 25 blocks on the year, averaging 2.5 kills per set.

Singleton posted 13 matches with double-digit kills, 11 matches with double-digit digs and seven double-doubles on the year. Her season highs came with 16 kills against Brevard College on September 16 and 16 digs against Roanoke College on September 13.

Emory & Henry posted a 7-21 overall record with a 3-8 mark against ODAC teams. The Wasps finished the season tied for eighth in the league.

Randolph-Macon College's Miranda Hall was named the ODAC Player of the Year while Yellow Jacket mentor, Bill Rogers was tabbed as the league's top coach for the fourth year running. Courtney Berry of Washington and Lee University was recognized as the ODAC Rookie of the Year while Carleigh Studtmann of Bridgewater College was voted as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete for a second season in a row.
