Emory & Henry Cross Country Continues Action At Royals Cross Country Challenge Friday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams continued their seasons at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday. Queens University of Charlotte hosted the meet at McAlpine Creek Park.

More than 1,000 runners competed across the two races with all divisions of college athletics from NCAA Division I to NAIA to NJCAA represented in the field.

The Men – 8K (5 miles)
- Junior Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) posted a time of 26:48 to lead the Wasps while sophomore Lucas Biggerstaff (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished in 30:41.
- Freshman James Guthrie (Dublin, Va.) stopped the watches in 30:56 as senior Colt Pierce (Lockhart, Texas) clocked a 34:56.

The Women – 5K (3.1 miles)
- Junior Alette McGuire (Chesapeake, Va.) posted  a season-best time of 21:29 while senior Erica Grupp (Charlottesville, Va.) also ran her best time of the year with a 24:04.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will next compete at the Concord Invitational next Friday. The meet will take place at Pipestem State Park in Pipestem, West Virginia.
