Emory & Henry Cross Country Races At Concord Invitational Friday

PIPESTEM, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams competed at the Concord Invitational on Friday afternoon. The event was a homecoming of sorts for Head Coach Shawnee Kegley, who was a six-time NCAA Division II All-American on the Mountain Lions' track & field team.

The Men – 8K (5 miles)
- Junior Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) led the Wasps, running a 28:32 to finish 13th overall and seventh among collegiate runners.
- Sophomore Lucas Biggerstaff (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 34th overall in 32:07 while freshman James Guthrie (Dublin, Va.) clocked a 34:04 to take 40th.

The Women – 5K (3.1 miles)
- Junior Alette McGuire (Chesapeake, Va.) finished 10th overall - seventh in the college division - as she covered the course in 22:05.

- Emory & Henry's next race will be the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 2. Roanoke College will serve as the host of this year's meet, which will take place at Green Hill Park in Salem, Virginia.
