ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Cross Country Team has been is projected to finish seventh at the South Atlantic Conference Championships this fall by the league's head coaches, SAC officials announced Wednesday.

E&H claimed a seventh-place finish at the league meet a year ago and returns nine letterwinners with just one departure due to graduation. The Wasps add two newcomers to squad for a roster of 11.

Wingate University, the SAC and Southeast Region Champion from a year ago, which also finished eighth at the NCAA Division II Championships is the favorite to win the league with 11 of 13 first-place votes. Catawba College is second with the remaining two top considerations while Anderson University and Lenoir-Rhyne University are tied for third.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Runners to Watch List with junior Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.), sophomore Kennedy Harris (Church Hill, Tenn.) and freshman Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) representing E&H.

Emory & Henry will open the year at the Catawba Invitational, hosted by Catawba College on Saturday, September 7. The meet will take place at Community Park in Salisbury, North Carolina.
