Emory & Henry Student-Athletes Honored For Academic Achievement During 2021-22

EMORY, Va./CLEVELAND, Ohio – Emory & Henry College has seen 202 of its student-athletes recognized for their academic performance during the 2021-22 academic year. This number represents nearly 40 percent of E&H's varsity student-athletes and surpasses last year's record mark of 176.

The D2 ADA (Division 2 Athletic Directors Association) announced that 41 Emory & Henry student-athletes had been selected as recipients of its Academic Achievement Award. This award, now in its 15th year of existence, recognizes student-athletes who have completed two or more years in the classroom and have a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. In total, 16,761 students from 171 NCAA Division II institutions were honored.

Institutionally, 201 student-athletes received the designation of Emory & Henry All-Academic for carrying a 3.30 GPA during the 2021-22 academic year. This distinction was initiated following the 2018-19 to honor those student-athletes who did not compete in sports sponsored by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

As a NCAA Division II Independent last year, all student-athletes became considered for Emory & Henry All-Academic. Additionally, the threshold was changed from a 3.25 to a 3.30 this year to align with the South Atlantic Conference standard.
