
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Emory & Henry has seen a record 131 student-athletes recognized by the Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) for their academic performance during the 2023-24 academic year. The award recognizes student-athletes who have completed two or more years in the classroom and have a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.

Emory & Henry's number of recipients soared to 131 this year from 81 in 2022-23 and 41 in 2021-22. The Baseball team led the way with 17 honorees while Softball was the top women's program with 10 student-athletes recognized.

Three different programs had at least 50 percent of its student-athletes find their way onto the list. Women's Golf topped the charts in percentage of student-athletes at 66.7% (4-of-6), Women's Swimming had 9-of-17 (52.9%) and Men's Tennis finished at an even 50 percent (5-of-10).
The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award is now in its 17th year. In total, 19,774 student-athletes from 192 NCAA Division II institutions were honored. As a league, the South Atlantic Conference led the nation with 2,076 student-athletes recognized.
