
ASHLAND, Va. - Six student-athletes from Emory & Henry University have been named to the 2024-25 VaSID Academic All-State Team, VaSID officials announced recently. VaSID is the professional organization of the Virginia Sports Information Directors. This year, the team honors 216 student-athletes from 36 institutions for their academic performance during the 2024-25 academic year.
E&H's selections were Gabe Brown (Clintwood, Va.) of men's basketball, Meaghan Croteau (Sparks, Md.) of Intermont Equestrian, Ross Divers (Vinton, Va.) from baseball, men's golf's Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.), Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) from women's swimming, and women's basketball's Macy McClellan (Kingsport, Tenn.). Each of these six student-athletes graduated with their Bachelor's Degree from the University on Saturday, May 10.
Each school is given six spots on the team for deserving student-athletes. Team members must be at least a sophomore and carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average to receive the honor.
The VaSID All-State teams are selected by sports information directors of member institutions of the Virginia Sports Information Directors across the Commonwealth of Virginia. VaSID, founded in 1983, selects Academic All-State teams across all sports in addition to All-State teams in two divisions (University and College) for 15 sports and five single-division teams.
