Dr. D.C. Cobler is entering his 28th year at Emory & Henry College. He currently serves as an Associate Professor & Department Chair for Emory & Henry's exercise science department as well as the Athletic Trainer for football, men's & women's golf and men's cross country.

He previously served the College as Head Athletic Trainer from 1997-04 and was formerly the Athletic Training Program Director and chair of the Department of Athletic Training.

Cobler has also served as the regional representative for the Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (VATA) and now is actively involved as a site visitor for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

Cobler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education with a concentration in sports medicine from Emory & Henry in 1995. He received a Master's Degree in 1998 from East Tennessee State University and earned his Ed.D. in sport physiology from ETSU in 2009. He also holds a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

A native of Carroll County, Cobler is married to the former Trudy Stone (E&H '96). The couple has a son, Bryce, and a daughter, Rily.
