BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Emory & Henry College senior second baseman Josh McMillian has been selected to the All-South Region First Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association, ABCA officials announced Tuesday. McMillian is the first player under Head Coach Trey McCall to earn regional honors.
The Amelia, Virginia native led the Wasps in batting average (.368), hits (63), home runs (five) and RBI (38) while slugging .567 on the year. McMillian also tallied 29 runs scored, 17 doubles, a .401 on base percentage and a .955 fielding percentage as he started every single game of the year at second base.
McMillian was named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference First Team after leading the Wasps to an 11-7 ODAC record and a tie for third place after they were picked to finish 10th in the league. E&H also reached the ODAC Tournament for the first year since 1999 and tied the school record for wins in a season (15).
As a member of the all-region first team, McMillian is now eligible for All-America honors from the ABCA.
