MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Baseball Team (6-7) scored more than 20 runs for the first time in nearly 12 years as it defeated Lancaster Bible College (0-4) by a 24-9 score at The Ripken Experience. The Wasps and the Chargers played at "Ebbets Field" a replica of the former Brooklyn Dodgers' home in New York City.

The last time E&H eclipised the 20-run mark was a 24-0 win over Roanoke College on April 17, 2002.

Lancaster Bible got out to a 5-1 lead after the bottom of the third but Emory & Henry scored runs in each of the final six innings to pick up the win. The Wasps took the lead in the top of the sixth, 9-7, and added five more in the seventh, before pulling away with 10 runs in the final two frames.

Senior third baseman Caleb Rotton (Boiling Springs, N.C.) and freshman second baseman Hunter Jeffries (Hickory, N.C.) had four hits a piece while Jeffries and sophomore centerfielder Brett Johnson (Sugar Grove, Va.) crossed the plate four times each.

Junior shortstop Jordan Woullard (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) had three hits and five RBI while junior first baseman Bransen Christopher (Hickory, N.C.) was three-for-eight in the game. The Wasps pounded out 19 hits and drew 16 walks in the game, striking out just two times.

Sophomore Matthew McInaw (Honey Brook, Pa.) picked up the win in relief to move to 2-1 on the year. He allowed two runs on five hits in three innings of work.

The Chargers were led offensively by Matt Taliercio and Caleb Mayer with two hits each while Tallercio and Kody Godsey both drove in a pair. LBC sent seven pitchers to the mound in the game, with Tyler Smith taking the loss.

Emory & Henry will have a quick turnaround as it will face off against Ohio Wesleyan University at noon on Wednesday at Myrtle Beach High School.
