MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Maryville (Tenn.) College Baseball Team (9-5) opened up an 11-4 lead in the first three innings and never looked back as it cruised to a 19-10 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (5-6) Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.

How It Happened
Emory & Henry drew first blood in the top of the first when junior Caleb Haynes (Covington, Va.) scored on a wild pitch but the Scots posted seven runs in the bottom half of the frame, highlighted by a three-run double by Will Hubbell.
Three scores for the Wasps in the second, including a two-run single up the middle by junior Hayden Milley (Clover, S.C.) closed the gap to 7-4, but Maryville plated a pair in the second and third to lead 11-4.
The squads traded runs late in the game, with MC scoring four in the sixth and three in the seventh while E&H added five in the seventh on six hits, including a two-run single by Haynes. Maryville capped the scoring, 19-10 with a run in the eighth.
Trevor Townsend earned the win in relief for the Scots, going 2.1 innings and allowing one run on two hits. E&H sophomore Michael Owen (Charlotte, N.C.) took the loss, allowing six runs.

Emory & Henry will open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Saturday when it visits No. 34 Shenandoah University. First pitch for game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for noon.
