Covenant Baseball Defeats Emory & Henry, 6-1, Saturday Afternoon

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Covenant College Baseball Team (4-4) bounced back to pick up a 6-1 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (3-6) in game two of a scheduled three-game series on Saturday. Game three was postponed due to rain. It is unclear if the contest will be made up.

How It Happened
Emory & Henry got on the board in the top of the first thanks to a solo home run by fifth-year centerfielder Hayden Milley (Clover, S.C.). After three and a half scoreless innings, the Scots tied things up at a run apiece on a groundout by Kenny Mills.

In the sixth, Covenant pushed five across for the final 6-1 score. Tyler Cox got things started with a two-run home run to left field and Mills capped the scoring by plating another pair with a double to left-center. The Wasps got one aboard in the seventh but were unable to threaten.

Covenant's Bryce Bollinger earned the win, allowing just one run on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Wasp sophomore Will Clark (Collinsville, Va.) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on six hits and six walks despite striking out six.

Emory & Henry will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Monteat College in a pair of seven-inning games beginning at 1:30 p.m.
