Emory & Henry Baseball Beats Ferrum, 8-2, Tuesday Afternoon On The Road

FERRUM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Baseball Team (5-13) got back on the winning track on Tuesday as it defeated Ferrum College (11-11) by an 8-2 score.

How It Happened
The Wasps got on the board in the top of the first on a solo home run by sophomore shortstop Kolby Anderson (King William, Va.). FC answered in second to go ahead 2-1 thanks to a double to right-center by Justin Brady.

In the third, Emory & Henry regained the lead as two runs scored when sophomore first baseman McCray Sawyers (Stuart, Va.) reached on an error.

E&H added five insurance runs in the eighth to seal the win, 8-2. Junior catcher Nathan Treadway (Valdese, N.C.) and sophomore third baseman Jared Foley (Sparta, N.C.) both had RBI base hits in the frame.

Sophomore Will Clark (Collinsville, Va.) earned the win for the Wasps, scattering one earned run on six hits with three strikeouts in seven innings. Devon Boothe suffered the loss for Ferrum, as he allowed six runs on five hits with three walks despite striking out seven.
