Tyler Bradley Named NCAA Division II National Player Of The Week By NCBWA

DALLAS, Texas – Emory & Henry College senior centerfielder Tyler Bradley (Bessemer City, N.C.) has been recognized as the National Player of the Week for NCAA Division II by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, NCBWA officials announced late Wednesday evening.

Bradley adds national laurels to his SAC Player of the Week and NCBWA Southeast Region Player off the Week accolades that were announced on Tuesday.

It is the first known instance that an Emory & Henry baseball player has been named national player of the week.

Bradley led Emory & Henry to a 3-1 week last week including a pair of victories over No. 14 Wingate University. Bradley batted an even .500, going 8-for-16 with a double and five home runs. He scored seven times and drove in 16 while also stealing a pair of bases. Bradley posted an on-base percentage of .556 and a slugging average of 1.500 as he tallied three multi-hit games and a pair of multi-home run contests.

On Wednesday, March 1 at Concord, he went 3-for-5 with two home runs, six RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base. He followed that up with a stellar Saturday (March 4) at Wingate, going 4-for-7 across two games with four runs scored, three home runs, 10 RBI and a stolen base.

Emory & Henry currently holds a 7-13 record with a 2-4 mark in SAC play. The Wasps will have their first home games of the season this weekend, welcoming No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne University to Porterfield-DeVault Field. Friday will feature a single game beginning at 2:00 p.m., with a doubleheader Saturday set to start at noon.
