ROCK HILL, S.C. – With the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, the South Atlantic Conference has released its baseball all-conference teams. Emory & Henry College junior outfielder Wayne Mize (Salisbury, N.C.) has been selected to the All-SAC Second Team while senior outfielder Jermie Greene, Jr. (Troutman, N.C.) was named to the All-SAC Third Team by the league's head coaches.

Mize was tied for fifth in the conference and ranked second on the E&H squad with a batting average of .389. He also ranked tied for eighth in the league in hits (65), while his 11 home runs led the Wasps and placed him tied for fifth amongst the conference leaders. His 44 RBI also put him tied for eighth in the conference and led Emory & Henry.
Mize had multiple hits in 20 of the Wasps' 47 games during the season and posted a 5-5 day against Coker (Mar. 25) when he also tied the program record with three home runs in a single game. He also drove in a season-high six runs against Mars Hill (Apr. 10).
Greene, Jr. posted a batting average of .416 over 101 at-bats during the season to lead E&H. He slugged six home runs and 22 RBI while scoring 24 runs over 28 games played. Greene, Jr. recorded a staggering .522 batting average during South Atlantic Conference play and finished the season on an 11-game hitting streak. He went 5-5 with a home run, two runs scored and a season-high five RBI against Coker (Mar. 26).
Greene, Jr. was named SAC Baseball Player of the Week and NCBWA Southeast Region Player of the Week on April 18. He batted .625 over four games during the week with two or more hits in each game including two doubles, a triple, and four home runs. He drove in 10 runs and scored seven runs, finishing the week with a .667 on-base percentage and a 1.625 slugging percentage.
Newberry College earned three of the four major awards with Braylin Marine being chosen as SAC Player of the Year, Bennett Roemer taking SAC Freshman of the Year honors and Wolves' mentor as SAC Coach of the Year. The league's pitcher of the year award went to Mitch Farris of Wingate University
Emory & Henry posted a 12-35 mark on the year with a 3-20 record in conference play during its first year in the South Atlantic Conference. The Wasps finished 13th league standings.
