How It Happened
Fifth-year outfielder Tyler Bradley (Bessemer City, N.C.) got the afternoon started with a bang in the top of the first inning as he launched a solo home run over the fence in center to give the Wasps an early 1-0 advantage. The Jaguars got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning as they scored four runs on just one hit, a pair of walks and a hit batter to take a 4-1 lead.

E&H responded in the top of the fifth inning. Fifth-year second baseman Noah Mazza (Plainfield, Ill.) and senior third baseman Jared Foley (Sparta, N.C.) recorded back-to-back singles to lead off the inning and both moved up on a sacrifice bunt from senior outfielder Matt Hill (Pineville, N.C.). Senior designated hitter Caeden Howell (Roaring River, N.C.) delivered a sacrifice fly to plate Mazza and trim the deficit to 4-2. Augusta immediately answered back with a pair of runs in both the bottom of the fifth and seventh innings to balloon the margin out to its final score at 8-2.
