Both teams were kept off of the scoreboard through the first two innings, but LMU struck first in the top of the third with a pair of runs on two hits. The Railsplitters added two more in the top of the fifth to establish a 4-0 advantage.

Emory & Henry broke through in the bottom of the sixth inning. Fifth-year second baseman Noah Mazza (Plainfield, Ill.) led off with a double down the line in right and took third base when the rightfielder struggled to corral the ball. Senior outfielder Jared Foley (Sparta, N.C.) plated Mazza with an RBI single to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. Redshirt freshman lefty Drew Lanzo (Indian Trail, N.C.) took the loss for E&H, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three batters in 4 ⅔ innings on the mound.
