Mars Hill Baseball Defeats Emory & Henry, 11-0, In SAC Series Finale

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Baseball Team (10-35, 6-21 SAC) fell in its final South Atlantic Conference home game of the year to Mars Hill University (16-29, 6-21) Sunday afternoon. The Lions slugged their way to an 11-0 win in seven innings.

How It Happened
The Lions took the lead for the third time in as many games as they posted two runs in the top of the first and four more in the top of the second for a 6-0 advantage. Mars Hill continued to add to its lead as the visitors tacked on two in the fourth, one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to push their margin out to the final at 11-0.

Brennan Williams picked up the win for the Lions as he went all seven innings, giving up just two hits while punching out 10 batters. Redshirt freshman lefty Drew Lanzo (Indian Trail, N.C.) was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs, two earned, on five hits with three strikeouts over two innings. Fifth-year second baseman Noah Mazza (Plainfield, Ill.) and freshman catcher Nick Morris (Mint Hill, N.C.) recorded the lone base hits for the Wasps.
