
ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Baseball Team has been picked to finish 13th in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Tuesday.

Last year, Emory & Henry posted an 11-38 overall record with a 6-24 record in South Atlantic Conference play. The season included SAC series victories over Southwest Virginia rival the University of Virginia's College at Wise and Mars Hill University on Senior Day weekend . E&H returns several starters from last year's squad and welcomes 23 new players, including eight transfers and 15 freshmen
Catawba College, the reigning SAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion is first in the poll with 10 of 13 first-place votes. Wingate University sits in second while Lincoln Memorial University is in third. Coker University is fourth with one first-place vote and Lenoir-Rhyne University rounds out the top five with a first-place nod of its own.
Newberry College has been selected to finish sixth with the final first-place vote while Carson-Newman University is seventh and Tusculum University sits in eighth. Anderson (S.C.) University, Limestone University and Mars Hill are ninth, 10th and 11th respectively. UVA Wise and Emory & Henry round out the voting in 12th and 13th.
In addition, the SAC has announced its Preseason All-Conference teams with fifth-year third baseman Jared Foley (Sparta, N.C.) earning a second-team selection. Foley had a monster year in 2024 as he led the Wasps in batting average (.366), runs scored (31), doubles (13), triples (4), RBIs (32), stolen bases (9) and on-base percentage (.418). He also recorded a 23-game hit streak during the year and had a span where he hit safely in 32 of 33 games. Foley has set several E&H records during his career including: single-season games started (47), single-season at bats (209), single-season hits (68), career games played (148), career games started (147), career at bats (610) and career hits (222).
Emory & Henry is scheduled to open the season on Friday, January 31 when they make the trip to the Palmetto State for a three-game series against the Trojans of Anderson (S.C.) University.
