Emory & Henry Men's Cross Country Finishes Ninth At 2011 ODAC Championships

BEDFORD, Va. - The Emory & Henry Men's Cross Country Team picked up a ninth place finish in the 2011 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at Claytor Nature Center.

The Wasps, who were led by senior Kéran Billaud's (Dublin, Va.) 36th-place finish, were able to score in the conference championship meet for the first time since 2009. Billaud covered the 8K course in 28:24.

Sophomore Cole Conley (Floyd, Va.) was second for the Wasps (30:32) while junior Matthew Williams (Stuart, Va.) was third (31:07).

Roanoke College's Tim Smith received medalist honors, completing the course in 25:29, while Lynchburg College won the team title.

In the women's 6K, Emory & Henry was paced by sophomore Kaitlyn Phibbs (Saltville, Va.) as she ran a 28:37.

Bridgewater's Olivia Mills won the race with a 22:00 outing, as the Eagles won the team championship as well.
