Intermont Equestrian Finishes Fifth At Tournament Of Champions Winter Classic II Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team competed in the last of four Tournament of Champions Series shows on Saturday. The Wasps, who served as the hosts of the show, finished fifth overall and put up one win and four reserve champion finishes on the day.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 5th/15
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

The Results
- Sophomore Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) was fifth in Open Equitation Over Fences while senior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) competed in Open on the Flat.
- Junior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) was the reserve champion in Intermediate on the Flat and took third in Intermediate Fences.
- Freshman Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) placed second in Novice Equitation Over Fences and was third in her Novice Flat class.
- Freshman Catherine Hill (Roanoke, Va.) won the Walk/Trot/Canter division while freshman Kelsey Bergman (Christiansburg, Va.) competed in Walk/Trot class.
- In High Medal competition, junior Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) was the Reserve Champion while Adsit earned Reserve-Champion honors for Low Medals.
- Randolph College's "Wild" Team was the champion of the day with 32 points while the Savannah College of Art & Design "Black" Team was reserve champion on 28 points. Emory & Henry's fifth-place finish came out of three-way tie for third place with Goucher College and Penn State University's "Blue" Team.

- The Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team will be back in action next Saturday & Sunday, hosting a doubleheader of Zone 4 – Region 5 shows at the Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center.
