MIDDLEBURG, Va. – Following its seventh IDA National Championship, the Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team has been featured in "The Chronicle of the Horse." It is the second time during the 2017-18 academic year that E&H equestrians have been prominently recognized by the national publication.

The piece highlights the Wasps' fourth IDA National Championship in five years and third under the Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry moniker. This year, the E&H delegation was comprised of four riders who had never shown in dressage at the national level. The team was led to the title by a pair of first-place finishes from junior Eliza Ginn (Alpharetta, Ga.) and sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) while freshman Delaney Dunne (Kingsport, Tenn.) and sophomore Cassandra Oliver (Charlotte, Vt.) were fourth.

On individual day, Dunne finished as the Individual National Champion at the Introductory Level while Adsit was the Reserve National Champion at Lower Training.

The quartet expressed how teamwork and a group mentality drove them to their success over the weekend in addition to a, "Listen to me, but listen to your horse more" approach by Coach Lisa Moosmueller-Terry.

The Intermont Equestrian teams have won 20 national championships since 2001 across four different organizations. The program also boasts 33 individual national titles. The program was absorbed by Emory & Henry College following the closure of Virginia Intermont College in the spring of 2014.

Started in 1937, "The Chronicle of the Horse" is a weekly equestrian magazine, covering dressage, hunter/jumper, eventing, foxhunting and steeplechase racing.
