BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team hosted the final Zone 4 - Region 5 show of the year on Saturday, earning a second-place finish.

The Results
- Senior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) won her section of Intermediate Equitation on the Flat while senior Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) was the reserve-champion in Intermediate Over Fences.
- Sophomore Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) earned the win in Limit Over Fences to qualify for the Z4-R5 Finals as sophomore Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) was first in Limit on the Flat.
- In Novice competition, sophomore Amy Burtner (Hillsborough, N.C.) was third while freshman Delaney Love (Bristol, Va.) won at Introductory.
The Awards
- Despite not having a rider in two divisions, the Wasps finished as the team reserve champion to Wake Forest University by only one point.
Postseason Qualifiers
- With the team's regular-season championship, the Wasps will represent Z4-R5 at the Zone 4 Finals in April.
- Senior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) will ride in Open on the Flat and Open Over Fences at the Zone 4-Region 5 Championship tomorrow. As the Season High-Point Rider in the open classifications, she will also compete at Zones for a spot in the Cacchione Cup at the IHSA National Finals.
- In Intermediate Over Fences, senior Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) and sophomore Abby McCoy (Cogan Station, Pa.) have qualified for the Regional Finals.
- Limit competition will see senior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) ride on the Flat while sophomore Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) is set to compete Over Fences.
- Sophomore Becca Pagnini (Beaverdam, Va.) will ride at Novice and sophomore Brinley Thomas (Farmville, Va.) will take on Introductory.
Next Up
- The Zone 4-Region 5 Finals will be held at the Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center on Sunday. The show will begin in the morning and run throughout the day.
